It seems that the harder you work the truck the less problems you will have. There are lots of guys with problem free trucks. There just aren't many of them here.
The bad thing is that when you work the truck harder the poor mileage becomes even worse....

I use my truck as a daily comuter for now, I'm in the military so I don't need it for work, I have a camper, but its just a little pop-up camper, however I do have an 8,000 lbs 79 Ramcharger and a rock-crawler suzuki samuri that I pull everynow and then. Main reason I bought it is, I live in TX and my wife in IL at least once a year we drive long distance to visit family I wanted something I could depend on and run the milage up without worying, plus towing and all the other capabilities this truck has. Its all stock, however recently by reading some wisdom words from dodgzilla and others, I've unplugged the EGR, nothing else, doesn't idle or warm up funny and it got down to below freezing the other day so I'm assuming everyting is good there. Haveven't hand calculated MPG yet. On the lie ometer I'm getting about 16-18 average, Hwy and city driving about equal to each other. Hwy driving alone i can get up to 22-23 but its got to be straight with no up hills. Now even on the lie ometer these numbers weren't possible until I unplugged my EGR. But to get back to the point I'm all stock and have no issues the only light I have is a check engine light due to my EGR.

I've got a little over 6000 miles on mine right now and I haven't experienced any problems. There were a couple times where I got the lightening bolt light to come on but that was by my own doing messing with the high idle.

I have the 07.5 with a little over 40K miles and so far I've had a few engine lights early on but no clogged filter messages. I had all the latest updates and it's been a great truck. I tow a 11K 5th wheel 6-8 times during the year and some are 2-3 week trips during the summer. The mileage is not very good but I drive pretty hard. The harder you work these trucks the better they like it.

I have about 6k on my 07.5 either I use it for towing, or hwy trips "up north", runs great and hand cal mileage has never been below 17mpg for the whole tank, had one engine light on, that tank I ran 50% bio home brew with two gallons of wmo that I needed to get rid of, light went off about 150 miles later, no issuse what so ever, I feel bad for guys that have had problems but I think this is one of the best motors out there. My brother has a 06 6.0 stoker, he cant get better that 14mpg and has been in the shop every 5 to 10k for the 60k he has owned it. I wouldnt worry about the 6.7 at all. just wish Smarty was out!!!!!!

Minor problems only two or three times with 32000 miles on it. Truck is a great work horse. Mileage has gotten better with the EGR unplugged. Right at 15.8 mpg constantly in the city and 18.5 on the highway. 12 or 13 pulling the trailer.

14000 on mine. 1 CEL at 11000 for the turbo (which I never even took in to get cleaned). Unplugged the EGR shortly after that and have been driving it like I stole it. I drive in the TOW/HAUL mode a lot to burn soot. No problems.

I check regularly with my code scanner to see if any codes are coming up since the CEL is on all the time. Again...no problems.

91000 on mine now, gets worked 3 days a week hooked to a eby 32ft aluminum double deck that i haul 900 12 to 14 pound pigs in so towing about 20'000, about 450mile average hauls and heres the list

first cel the first day it was hooked to the trailer within 100 miles
and dpf constipation at around 1100
probably 15 trips to the dealer, 1 reflash,1 computer died(waited 3 days for replacement) and another reflash that same trip
the other 14 or so was for the same dpf constipation and cel
cel came on every trip i made on my way home empty along with catlyst 100%
68000 miles dpf plugged and hour from home the top serpentine idler locked up and snapped off taking out the tensioner, fan blade, and radiator(not under engine warranty, engine warranty doesnt cover the water pump even) cost me $785,
every dpf regen and cel i got would cause the truck to drop off power and i would have to run 55 in 5th gear, now with h&s delete i still have the light but i set the cruise at 65-70 and relax, huge improvment, just waiting for code free and egr delete

I have 35000 miles my 3/4 ton 6.7 with no trips to do dealer except to have the high idle activated. I drive as a daily commuter and tow a 13000 load consisting of my gooseneck and a tractor for the pulls around here. When running unloaded I get 21-23 miles per gallon hand calculated with the egr plugged in. Towing my trailer I get 17.5-18 MPG hand calculated. My truck is bone stock. When I first got my truck the mileage was much lower until I got about 15-20000 on it and then it really started shooting up good.

i almost forgot, i has a dead pedal at least once a day also(off the gas with the exhaust brake slowing down and nothing would happen when pressing back on the go pedal and would have to pedal it a few times) until i did the dpf delete, hasnt done it for over 2 weeks now

Sorry Onelongshot, I simply cannot believe your mileage claims. 17-18 mpg while towing is just plain ridiculous. Your calculator must be missing some buttons....
