Question Need Some Help With CE Light

Anyone have any experience with a P0131 code (low voltage to oxygen sensor)? What was the remedy? The truck has the AX update along with the g30? recall. Truck seems to have never gone into regen mode to clean the particulate filter. Got 900 miles or so on the truck. Any info would be great !!

With 900 miles, it has definitely gone through a regen. It is supposed to be transparent. Usually that code is related to the oxygen sensor module (on the pass side frame rail midship). Usually a new module is what fixes it. Strange though, cause I thought the g30 recall involved getting a new o2 sensor module.

How soon after the G30 recall did the CEL come on?

<30 miles...
Kind of a long story... But i'll condense it.. I bought the truck at a dealer that sold it's dodge portion of the business a week later. So now i'm having the truck serviced at a different dealer. I had the dealer I purchased the truck from do the g30 recall before I took delivery. The CEL came on during my ride home of course.. I starting to wonder if the dealer I took delivery from actually installed the new module. Anyway to tell ?? P/n or something?

I have about 33k miles now. Since I had the fuel system replaced about 15k miles ago I have never noticed a regen. Should I be concerned?

Doesn't a light or something come on in the gauge cluster? I'm almost sure I read that? Never noticed it on...

I have heard that some of the replacement O2 modules were bad. Mine received a code concerning the new module, forget what the code was and it was a stored code. Tech said they would replace it again if the code returns. No CEL for that code yet.

Update Update....

Alright boys another one for ya... Got rid of the po131 code. Dealership replaced the o2 module and also the o2 sensor. Everything was going great with no codes. Seems the dealer wasn't testing the truck with the exbrake on though. As I was taking her home I hit the switch before coming to an intersection while rolling about 60mph and **** if the CE light didn't come on again. The dealer put 25 miles on the truck and didn't get the code due to the fact they didn't use the brake. :thud:

Here is the new code:

Says P2A00 o2 sens circ range/erf bank 1 sens. Anyone ever had this code? Any info would be great !!:thumbsup

I don't know about your codes, but for your regen question. It is possible for your truck to never go into regen. If you pull a trailer or are working your truck to the point that the cat gets to 650 deg it will be hot enough to burn the cat clean. People have the idea it regens at a certain mileage, it regens when the computer sees a big enough flow difference through the cat/part filter. It is also posible for your truck to go into regen and continue to regen an extended amount of time due to the fact the cycle keeps getting interupted before it completes the cycle. This may explain the disapointing mileage reported with some vehicals. A couple of paramiters have to be met before it can regen, basically engine up to operating temp and vehical speed above 5mph, now cummins is working on and has a program update on some industrial 6.7 engines to do a regen cycle at 0mph. I am not sure it is reached the automotive market yet or will.

I've seen the p2a00 code. I think it's really a version of the P2000 issue. The dealer cleared my p2a00 and told me the starscan didn't show an active code but within a week I started getting P2000, which didn't show on the odometer, only on a code scanner (odo just said "done"). It became very repeatable and would come back on within a day after I cleared it with the code scanner. I took it in and they reflashed it. Apparently they have something new for the P2000 problem. It's only been 2 weeks but the cel has stayed off. Maybe they've got it finally.

My 08 Mega with a 68 RFe Trans averages going into Regen about every 65
to 75 miles with the amount of city driving that I do. And I always run with
my EB on and manually select the best gearing to keep my rpm's and egt in
the best range....practically no regular idling....use high idle most of the
time. My truck stays in REGEN at least 25-30% of the time. It's very plain
when you watch your gauges.fuel milage sucks.

I just got the P2A00 code and cleared it. I've driven about 125 miles on the highway and haven't received anything. I've had my CEL come on sproadically within the first 8K miles but didn't get one until yesterday (16K miles). I've learned to deal with the CEL and bought a scanner just to clear it. If the CEL comes back on with the same code shortly after clearing it, that's when I bring it to the dealer. It's my first diesel truck and I intend on keeping it. I don't do any towing and I've never loaded it down. I plan to in the next few years though.
