Mexico built trucks

I remember reading somewhere that somebody said that the Mexican trucks were not have near the number of problems that other built trucks are having. I tried searching but couldn't find anything. I don't remember if it was a full thread or just a post. Anyways, can somebody tell me if this is true? The truck I found is a Mexican built truck and if that is the case, thats great. Also, with regard to the inconsistencies with fuel mileage on the 6.7 between different trucks and if the Mexican manufactured trucks are having less problems, does anybody know if the new trucks that are getting around 17-18 mpg are the Mexico trucks?

I am just curious that with you guys that are getting the 500+ miles per tank and 17-18 mpg have Mexico built trucks and the trucks built in the US are the ones with the poor fuel mileage. Does this sound logical? Does anybody have anything to back this up?

My truck has been great. Mexico build March 07. I don't get 17-18 mpg though. IIRC the main things were better paint, fit and finish, less warranty issues. I remember the thread or post you are talking about. I have also read it elsewhere.

Mine is Mexican-built, Nov 2005. Only problem I had was the HVAC door, which was replaced by Dealer. Truck has been great, I get around 19.5 mpg on highway, doing 75 mph. My truck now has 31.5k miles on it.

Thanks guys. That makes me feel better that you guys are not have problems with the Mexican built trucks. Hopefully I get the truck soon. I wanted to see if there was any correlation with the better fuel mileage and trucks built in Mexico. If anybody else has something to say, I would appreciate it.

Also, another question to go along with this. I really want the interior with the center consul but can't find it unless its in a Laramie Mega-Cab. Anybody have a quad cab with the center consol?

All dual rear wheel trucks are built in Mexico.

St. Louis only builds singe rear wheel.
