Love the new F-450's - Will dodge do the same?

There are a bunch of the new pickup based 4x4 f 450's around here the farmers are using and they are really nice and heavy duty trucks. The engine and 5 speed auto are only things keeping me away. I'd prefer the cummins, six speed auto and exhaust brake. The f-450s are very nice inside and are very heavy duty and I like the factory 19.5 inch wheels. I like the bigger crew cab than what i have. I don't like the Mega cab since it eats into the 8 ft bed. I was also suprised how well it did in the 150,000 mile torture test.

My question is: Will dodge build a 4500 p/u truck to compete? I'd love to see a 4500 mega cab pick up with 8 ft. bed and aluminum 19.5 wheels. Anyone else feel the same? When is dodge planning on the next design overhaul for the ram pickups?

But is it a Cab and Chassis truck or will you be able to get it with an actual 8ft bed on it?

YES!

I went and looked at an f450 the other day, too. It is supposed to have a very tight turning circle, and the interior is very nice. I'd also like to have a real adult sized back seat and a long bed...

Looking under the hood, though, and I can see why the cab comes off for some engine work...

As far as I know, Dodge has quad cab 4500 and 5500 cab and chassis coming, but I haven't heard of any plans for a mega or for a factory pickup box... I think there was also going to be a Sterling branded version of the 4500 and 5500...

FWIW, Dodge does not offer a factory bed with the 3500/4500/5500 C&C and the Mega Cab is not option... also, the factory bed off of a regular 3500 won't fit without modification.

And yes, they are already out. Not only on the Dodge website but I've seen a few online for sale at dealer lots.

But, he could probably buy a 4500 & the wheels, then have a custom bed put on it for far less than what that F450 will set you back.

I knew the C&C 4500 were coming out but I haven't heard you can get it with a bed. Teh front axle (dana 60) on the F-450 is extra wide to give it a tighter turning radius.I just hope dodge will see the light and come out witha truck I don't have modify myself to fit my needs. The way the F-450s are selling you would think Dodge woupld pick up on this marketing strategy.

Since the frame rails are different, I presume it would be tough to put a Dodge dually bed on one of the cab and chassis frames?

What other options for beds are out there, and what would they cost?

I saw that, but the wheels look different on the one with the box, and it doesn't have the fender flares that the other 5500's have...

I assumed they mixed a couple 3500 photos in there?

I talked to a guy today that has a new F-450 he likes the truck and says it has good power but it is making him get fat, because everytime he stops for fuel he gets a candy bar and a pop
He said just driving the truck down the highway 10 mpg and pulling a trailer 8-8.5
