How much did you guys get off MSRP with your 6.7 purchase?

 

I got 6,500 off with my 5500.

 

Looking at buying an 08 2500 Mega Cab next week and got quoted $41,125. That's $8,230 below MSRP.

 

money off MSRP depends on what rebates there are, what model of truck and what packages are on the truck. Also some people get other rebates, Say Military, Union Pacific, Friends and Family of Chrysler, among others.. so when someone else may say "I got 11k off MSRP" that might not be possible for everyone.

 

The MSRP was around 48 with 2 in rebates and I drove off a smidge under 40 like 38950.

 

I just bought mine about 1 month ago the rebates were $4000. They wanted 48459.00. And we walked out paying just under 35,500. Then we added lifetime oil for 599.00. Compared prices on the internet, got a couple of invoices from some friends in the car business and just went shopping for the best deal. Oh they filled the tank for us because we drove about 45 minutes to get there.

 

Does Dodge have anything like the X plan Ford has?

i got my 07 for about 11k under MSRP when the incentives were $3500

truck msrp was 47k and i got it a little over 36k

 

There is definitely a difference between the 07's and 08's. I just ordered a 2008 with the Employee discount and I think with the present $2000 rebate that I will be around $42,000 for a $50450 sticker truck.

Hopefully the rebate goes up next month. They are quoting delivery around the 15th of Nov and I just ordered the truck last thursday.

Also, my dealer is giving me $2500 more for my trade than anyone else - Ford, Chevy or Dodge dealer would. So I'm wondering if there is some hidden cash. Overall, I'm getting a dodge megacab ($50,450) for the same price as a 2008 Ford ($48200) and $700 more than an 2007 Chevy $46290 sticker. The 2008 Chevy was actually stickered at $48,500 and the best deal I could get was $3000 more. My preferred truck was the Ford but I couldn't get by having to take the cab off for repair, the Chevy backseat was toooo small and I did not like the hood or rear wheel wells, so the Dodge sold me on the new tranny (6sp), megacab, and cummins who I believe will work out any problems with the BlueTec by the time the warrenty runs out.

Anyway that's my story.

 

$5,879 Preferred Price (PP) discount + $4,000 Dodge Rebate = $9,879 total off MSRP. The PP discount (2% below dealer invoice) is similar to employee discount except it is for an affiliate organization (in my case, the USTA). But remember you still can negotiate down the dealer holdback (I didn't).

 

Man, I am definetly going to the wrong dealers. None of them would budge over the given rebates, and that was on an '07! I think I will be waiting until the spring to buy a truck. Hopefully the rebates will be better at that time.

 

shop around, look on the internet and on ebay. I found my truck on ebay, and dont regret it for one second!!!

 

I guess its different being a local business owner. I try to keep all my business in my own town, and if that isnt possible, at least my own state. I see many many people, some of them business owners go to other states because they think they are getting a better deal. The fact of the matter is, every dealer pays the same money for the same truck. especially when in the same general area of the country. No dealer is in the business of selling cars and trucks to lose money, so if they arent willing to take a loss on hold back don't be suprised. It would be like you selling whatever you sell at your business for COST every single deal. Where is the money in that ?

 

I went to our local dealer and got his best price as with other dealers within 200 miles. None came close to a recommended out of state dealorship. I called each of our local dealers to see if they could match or even come close. I too like to deal locally, but several thousand dollars difference means more to my family than a Christmas card from a local dealer.
