IMO, it comes from too much idle time, and not enough exhaust temp. For those that drive their trucks like an old lady, and never get the EGT's up, they cake up the egr tube, and clog the vains in the turbo.... It is a poor design, but seems to work best when the trucks are driven like trucks

I had the CEL twice, did not replace turbo. First one was my thermostat. The second time they re-flashed the computer. No problems since, 12 K miles on original turbo. I do get on it every now and then to keep the soot from building up. Leaves a nice cloud of smoke when I nail it.

Do you have a 5.9L or 6.7L? A 6.7L, unless emissions equipment has been disabled or removed, should not smoke at all. After 12900 miles, my tailpipe still has nothing but a little mud on it. It is CLEAN on the inside...

Had mine replaced at 6500 miles. Same problems that everyone else is experiencing above. P2000 codes, desoot, desox......

What the hell is the issue? and are the same issues going on with the 2008 6.7's?

What is Chrysler's plan to fix this problem? Most everyone here has to work to pay for the **** trucks and when you're in the dealership 12 times since September 07' it makes it hard to justify paying this much for a vehicle.

Other than that, I love the truck!!!
