How accurate is your "miles til empty" on your overhead display? Should i trust it at all or fill up well before it reaches 0? I have yet to test it but dont want to be stranded...

They do not go down to 0 miles to Empty. It will say Low Fuel when you hit 30 miles to empty. I always try to fill up when it says that.. You should have another 3 gallons or so left in fuel tho at that point.

Mine too and I try not to test it much past that... the last thing I want to do is run out of fuel.

thats why i bought a 100,000 mile $100 deductible service contract. As soon as i hit 100k i'm trading it off. lol. I don't want a truck with no warranty.. at least not one like these new 6.7's

The "miles until empty" is still based on driving. I've seen it go up and down without driving a full mile. I think it's much like your average mpg.

yeah ive been watching mine a lot lately just for the heck of it. I think its a little optimistic, but we will see. It does change with your driving habits for sure.

The DTE on my '03 will count down to zero. At that point, I have about 75-80 miles to look for fuel; but who's counting...

Same here ^ . never went more than 30 though. After fill up, hand calculations would say I still had 40 more - so you're spot on ,compared to mine!

Found the warning to be very accurate. Drove my truck 35 miles after it read low fuel.It then ran out of fuel. Was carrying an extra jerry can and it restarted without problem.

wow that is pretty accurate. I believe that these trucks will start much easier then the old generation diesels because of the differences in the fuel system. However that doesnt mean that i will feel comfortable running it out of fuel.
