Help me love my truck again.
Loss of power during acceleration.
Okay so my truck was hard to start if it did & was sluggish especially over 1500 rpm so. You can tell a difference as it goes from pulling good to less power while accelerating. I took it in & had it looked at. After 2 weeks in the shop & $1650 later I had the sending unit replaced & injectors removed & bench tested. Then the mechanic says he doesnt have the proper equipment to test my high pressure injectors & wants another $850 to test them again once back in. Or $60 a piece to send them to the parent shop in Terre Haute to be tested there. I said no I want my truck back & now it starts better & every time but still not right & still have power loss durning acceleration. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe pressure pump Or turbo or probably something I'm oblivious to. Anyone got an idea I can test or check ?

Have you gotten any codes and what are they?
What's your rail and boost pressures doing when you're losing power?
What have you done for your "partial delete"?
Have you shimmed or plugged the frpv?

Not positive on codes, I tried the key off to run & back & forth but not codes & I don't have a reader. Diesel shop said the only code that came up after changing the sending unit was crank position sensor. Not sure of rail pressure either, I need to get pressure gauge asap. At around 9 to 10 on boost is when it seems to just stop pulling hard. Partial delete is probably minimal as possible, the dpf was removed. & I know nothing about the frpv, I bought the truck this way about 2 years ago & it has been awesome until recently. My buddies are saying to just trade it off but I'm hooked. But truck I've ever drove I'm keeping it. It also has edge attitude.
Thanks for the time & help xcc, I have a direction to start. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Well your buddies are probably driving Fords so what do they know...
Does your edge attitude have the gauge display? If so then all you need to do is select rail pressure as one of the parameters to watch.
Don't start with the expensive stuff, start out with replacing your fuel filter and shimming or plugging the frpv. Both these items are common causes for a loss of power and will run you under $100 to do total.
On the delete end is your egr valve disabled with the edge attitude or is it unplugged? Is the TCV unplugged or plugged in still?
I don't know what all you're supposed to do when deleting with the edge but leaving these items plugged in and functional with other tuners can cause power loss or bogging down on accelleration.
Just something else to check I guess.

Xcc_rider: thanks for the advice. Sorry I'm just replying, just got done with replacing front end ball joints & everything else. Turns out my whole problem was the frpv. Shimmed it & it's running like it was new. Thanks a million.
