I just bought a 2008 2500 with a 6.7 in it. Someone had deleted the dpf but kept tge programmer. So I have purchased a race ME tuner. Went to use it but my truck is puffing black nasty smoke every little bit and today started making a noise like the turbo is spooling up. It also idles up for no reason. Any help would be great thanks.

 

when it started to make the turbo spooling noise was it at an idle? the exhaust brake will come on to help warm the truck up and produces a noticeable exhaust noise.
also the truck will idle up to 1000 rpm when the water temp is low after the truck has been idling for 2 minutes.
when does it smoke? if its under acceleration or increasing load it may just be a normal amount of smoke????

 

yeah it makes the noise at idle and gets worse as it runs. it is a lot if smoke. it has me stumped. it almost acts like the butterfly in the intake horn is closing and causing a vaccume. loading it with fule

 

if you are deleted and plan on keeping it that way, is it worth the 60 bucks to buy a throttle valve delete and remove I as a possible cause, you can buy the cast not so shiny TV delete from Glacier diesel a lot cheaper than the machined ones to make it an affordable test. might be worth a try in my mind
