Well it's better than it was,,,,, BUT I really like the 2nd Gen straight pipe sound with lots of smoke. From in the Cab it is more of a deep sound.. hard to describe but ya it may be too quiet to record. Plus I am only running the Juice w/ Att. I have heard the ones on U tube and they sound much better than mine, but are stacking 3 boxes and have a manuel trans. I doubt that I will ever go there. (notice I did not say NEVER) LOL. I still hold out hope that when we get a torque converter for the automatic it will help. And it IS better. Just not as great as the U tube one. If I ever figure out how to post a video I will do that. But for now I doubt I will have time. Sorry.
Oh. Frankenstien was deleted.

Check out this link. Don't give up just yet. It is possible. I think I just need to throw more power at her. I have only had it for about 7 weeks now. Gotta take it easy of I will go broke before I make my second truck payment. I will try to get a recording..... don't sell it just yet!!!!!!! Dang!!

Hey, I am out here on the LEFT coast!! Just box it up and keep it handy for when you need it. I didn't buy this truck to have the big plug eating all my fuel ever few miles. When they get it to the point that it is clean and gets good economy I may live with it quiet and clean. Until then. I didn't vote for this!

Don't do it!!!!!! I already did the R&R on the Cat, DPF and it will derate the engine in about 50-100 miles. Then you will have less power, Same fuel economy and a trip to the dealer to reset the memory for the sensors when you want your power back. If you are lucky you will get a tech who is nice enough to push the button without charging you. If He knows what to do. The first dealer wanted to put a new DPF on for the tune of $3000.
Been There, Done That.

I am right there with you. Just be patient!!!! If you aren't sure that it will be loud enough. Remove the whole exhaust and start it up. That should give you some idea! And record it for all of us too ok? LOL

I have been doing some tinkering with the egr and I do believe that is the reason they are so quite. I had it pulled off the exhaust manifold and it was pretty loud when I started it up and when I had mine straight piped I had the factory down pipe so that could have restricted sound.

Ya there is another CAT in the downpipe that has gotta go. That is why I thought it would be a lot louder when I did the 5" exhaust. But it wasn't that much louder. Actually. It is hard to tell just how loud it is from the driver seat. My friend is coming over on friday and I will have him do a video drive by and we will see how it comes out. He should be able to help me get it posted too.
I blocked the EGR for a bit and didn't notice much increase in noise so I don't know about your theory!!!!
