I had the muffler removed today on my '06 mega cab. I left the cat and the resonator that was behind the muffler. The truck is not loud at all like I thought it might be. Thats a good thing. It is slightly louder at idle and when taking off.

It does get louder when under hard acceleration. I am worried that it may be too loud in the cab when I pull my 36ft trailer, but I will have to wait and see this weekend.

 

If it is, get yourself a tip and extend it out past the fender. That should help a bit

 

There is no dout that it will have a "drone" when under a load. You will have to keep us posted on the outcome.

 

If its too loud you just too old.
