growing oil
I feel bad for the owners of 2007-to present who got suckered by Chrysler. I found a few articles below that point out the problems and why they still exist. Sorta reminds me of the rushed to market F*rd's.

The 6.7 did, and some still do have problems. There are some who will fight it, and those of us who will fix it. The early models were the most troublesome, Dodge has ironed out the vast majority of the problems with them.
If you dont want one then by all means dont buy one.
I, by no means, in any which way, feel I got suckered.
I am very happy and not suckered either. Dodge built a good truck and the system has some issues which they've worked on and I am able to fix it and make it better than any previous... I just wish Dodge would not play the warantee take-away game by fixing it for them...
Dodge builds the truck body and transmission.
Cummins built the engine.
It was rushed to market just like the International 6.0 for F*rd. Cummins was always the leader in engineering and testing. Something or someone failed along those lines - to produce an engine that makes fuel and blows oil and has caused so much difficulties for those who purchased them.
I glad they didn't do this with their marine engines - they'd have lost all their long-gained reputation!

Like stated before, we get it, you dont like the 6.7's. Some of us do. I like any diesel that starts with a C and ends with ummins.
A lot of these guys are proud of there 6.7's, myself included and dont like when someone, particularly someone who doesnt even own one, comes around bashing what they are proud of.
I dont know the exact numbers, but Id be willing to bet there is probably close to 100,000 6.7's that have rolled off the line so far. Id bet you even money that 90% of them have never had a lick of trouble, 5% have and complain about it, and the other 5% mod away until happy.
If you dont want a 6.7, by all means, dont own one, but let those who enjoy them do so.
As for the original content of this thread, lets get it back on track and help the fella who is having trouble with his 6.7. Lets help him get it running right, and he can see just how good they can be.

I don't know 100% but there is no fuel even going thru any of the EGR system to create oil. I have done many delets on them.
is it an issue when going into regen and the ECM initiating the added injection cycle for regen and getting past the rings? and when deletes are done, no regen so no fuel past rings?

If it's not a major problem, like the Ford 6.0 was, then why are there two class action suits filed - one in SC and other in TX?
My ***** is with the EPA for requiring this, when they let the states set their own air quality regs or not for gassers. How many of us have seen a gasser puking out smoke on the flats or just sitting in traffic burning oil? Most every van I've ever been behind was this way.
They didn't make the air any cleaner, anywhere in America. They only put money into the pockets of the unscrupulous. LA's smog is as bad now, as it was in 1990 - yet they have the most stringent of emissions controls. It's all bs! Take the emissions off the vehicles - as current owners, that's your only choice.
If you're interested in purchasing, find an older model 12v or 24v pre-2007.
