greasing the front driveshaft

Do you need a special grease fitting to grease the front driveshaft on the 4x4? Will a standard grease gun work? Thanks for any input, tips.

Well if everything is stock , you may not be able to grease at all , until you replace the stock u-joints with aftermarket grease able joints , as much as I've seen anything for the last 20 yrs , came with sealed joints , and the rest of the drive train , all sealed , new definition to an old term , preventive maintainance = prevent you from maintaining .
As far as special fittings , yes , but that's just normal , about 3-4 fittings to do most .applications , right angle , needle & standard

you need a needle adapter for your grease gun. do a search on here, and you'll find detailed instructions and pics on how to do it.
