g56 trouble

anybody know a good place to get a reman trans? local dealer wants over 6k for one. or is it possible to replace this aluminum garbage with a nv5600? thanks!

yes it is but you’ll need to shorten the rear driveline 2” and lengthen the front, use different flywheel

I have an '06 3500 auto w/ 4x4. Just had the trans replaced with a reconditioned one in February. We were traveling and towing in North Carolina. It came to under 4k$ out the door. Can't recall the name of the company that re-built it but it was installed by a shop in Statesville, NC. I felt that was a fair cost and have been happy with it now after 5k miles.

We lost 2nd. gear. It would jump from 1st to 3rd and be good after that but no 2nd was a problem with my towing a travel trailer.
