Exclamation G56 problems

I'm posting this in both places because i ned to see who else is having these problems with their tranny, hangs in reverse and you have to force it out with clutch in has a whine in it shifts poorly thru the first 3 to 4 gears, seems like synchros are out. the reason is is that mine is doing this since about 6k has 46k on it now they put new fluid, clutch and flywheel, now they want to rebuild it ans i am telling them a new tranny instead because i didnt buy a rebuilt truck for new price, the dealer agrees but their hands are tied becuase the higher ups at DC say at least 70% of tranny must be bad. its fixin to get ugly cuz i will take it to court and they can buy the truck back instead of a new tranny, sorry the make me mad

Let them tear into it. It might be something simple or something major. Nothing wrong with someone rebuilding it. They do have the right to repair and you are not letting them do that. At least let them give it a shot. Some Tech's can make it stronger then new if they pay attention to detail. Sure won't hurt.

I agree with you. You buy a new truck with a new tranny not a rebuilt one. I know that Ford is the same way.
I got a new tranny when my NV5600 blew.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but when a dealer puts a "new" trans. motor or whatever its a rebuilt unit. Coming from an independant rebuilder. the only time they have to by law put a NEW unit in is before the vehicle is delivered to a customer or there is a customer name attached to the VIN. In 15 years I have only put one NEW unit in a car.......

Yeap, if I put a new tranny or motor in a truck it was always a reman or remanufactured meaning rebuilt by factory authorized personel. Let them take it apart and see what is wrong. If it's a main shaft issue you'll probably get a new reman unit.

which is usually another way of saying "lowest bidder". Not that that's always bad but...
