G56 to NV5600 swap

Has anyone done this? My G56 decided to fail while 500 miles from home. I like the G56 but have access to several NV5600's. Does anyone know if bellhousing plates, crossmembers, driveshaft lengths, or if anything is different? By everything I've read clutches are different which sucks because I only have about 18k miles on my Valair dual disc. But if anyone knows anything please let me know. I need this truck running again. Thanks.

I know some guys on Cummins Forum have gone form a 68RE to a NV5600. Im pretty sure that the bellhousing is the same. Not sure if the trannys are the same length and if the driveshafts must be shortened/lengthened.

I know the overall length is different but can't remember if shorter or longer.

I really want to say its shorter.

Best bet would be to get a cross member out of an 03-05 truck that had an NV5600 and then deal with the driveshafts.

His is a 4x4 but the info will still be very similar.
The clutch had to be sent to south bend ($170 in shipping) to get disc changed when before reinstalling the clutch you need to remove the spacer behind the flywheel if you are useing the G56 adapter on back of motor instead of the NV5600's. And you will need a starter spacer ($45) the trans bolts right up the exhaust hanger on passenger side of trans need modded. the reverse light sencer plug-in is different so you will have to find one off a wrecked truck some where. the transfer case bolts right up to trans the all the wiring will reach the breather for transfer case need to be pulled down a 1" or so to reach. the rod that connects the lever to shifter on tranfer case needs to be lengthened 3". The trans mount needs to modded and made 1 1/4" taller to put the motor back where it's suppost to be. Cross member works. the rear drive shaft needs to be shortened 3" and the front 3" longer ($254) and that is just for a 4 door short bed. reg cab and 4 door long bed will be different. Now inside the cab the G56 shift lever works but you need the shifter that goes on top of trans. everything inside works just fine. the shifter doesn't hit anything. Any question or stuff i for got to put on just ask i will tell you

Trans: $2500
Starter spacer: $45
Clutch: depends on what you got but i paid shipping to get discs changed to NV5600 ($170)
Drive shafts: $254
Trans mount: had the metal laying around the shop to mod it
