Factory Remote Start

Was disappointed that you couldn't get the factory remote start on the Diesel, don't know why.

But any way is their a chance that you can still put the Factory start system on and it is a plug and play deal? I had a CompuStar remote start put on my 03 and I did like it but it is a wiring night mear and I had to redo just about the entire thing because of crappy connection made by the installer. Would be nice to just have a simple plug in starter.

On a side note can anyone tell me at what temo the auto high idle and exhaust brake are suppose to come on? Been down to 28 so far and nothing.

Be careful with those light colored seats. Don't know as to why, but the book is specific this year to say gasoline and automatic only. Weird.

Does the Exhaust brake work when you are driving normally? It's makes a very noticable sound. Both features have to be activated during the PDI process when the vehicle arrives at the dealer. It's been in the high 30's here in the AM and I turn both things on just to speed up the warming.

Exhaust brake does work yes. If I push the button when at idle it will come on, but their seems to be some confusion if it should come on by itself when it is cold enough even if the button isn't pushed.

I have never had it go into auto high idle by its self yet. I don't have the manual high idle turned on, so I can't use that.

My 2003 would go into high idle anything below 30 I believe. The exhaust brake on that was a Jacobs I put in so I would just leave it on. great for warm ups.

Exhaust brake will have to be turned on manually. I haven't found a way around that yet. My '06 would go in to the high idle all by itself. I use mine so I haven't paid attention to see if it does or does not come on.
