Exhaust filter full
In short no. The system will limp if it doesn't see a pressure differential across the DPF. IF its plugged, you can get the dealer to do a forced regen using a star scan or grab a coffee and go for a 1/2hr highway drive.
When my truck had the DPF and it did the same thing I was in the middle of Jasper during a white out. Advice from the dealer was to disconnect the battery to reset the computer. It would come out of limp mode for about 200 or so K, then I'd reset again and off I went. I would assume you could do the same with the DPF out. The dealer replaced mine under warranty and I drove it for another 60,000 or so. I had no problems with the truck afterwards, now 120,000k later. Hope this helps.
Mine went in limp mode (when I owned my 2007.5 6.7L) out near Ft. Davis Tx. towing my T.T. (nearest major town was Odessa). Took it to the dealership back in Dallas and they had to replace it as it was faulty. Hope you don't go through that mess. Good Luck.
