Exhaust Brake???

Anyone have the exhaust brake coming on when the switch is off? Every now and then I'll get a short burst of brake and then it'll stop.

My 6.7 has been great since the latest flash. Has anyone gone with a 2" leveling kit in the front to even it out? Will it hurt anything other than the need to re-align the front end?

I have noticed that occasionally the EB will kick-in w/o the switch on, especially during a downshift of the auto tranny. I was playing with the manual up/down switch on my column shifter and felt the EB engage for about two seconds.

As for the leveling kit, I don't personally see a need for it. Mine sits fairly level. The 4x2s seem to sit much less level.

I have the leveling kit on mine. Just make sure you change out your shocks. You should not need to realign with the kit.

I have the exhaust brake on all the time so I would not know if it was malfunctioning or not. Sure saves wear and tear on the service brakes. As for leveling, I removed 2 spacers from the rear spring and axle mount and the truck is running level with the 5er loaded and hitched. Tows very smooth.

My exhaust brake only comes on when I have it switched on.

I put a 2" level kit in mine. I had to have offset ball joints installed to keep the truck from pulling to the right. More than just a regular alignement is needed if you want your 07 to drive straight without pulling.

The E-B is part of the regen system as well as a brake....that is why the E-B is standard on the unit. it is normal for it to do this..

Man that weird! Mine drives straight as an arrow. Guess I got lucky?

I installed the 2" leveler kit and also removed the two spacers in the rear at the same time I installed my rear air bags. I did not replace the front shocks, I did pay to have the alignment checked (required a minor toe-in adjustment). The truck looks a whole lot better, is truely level now, and actually seems to ride a little better (probably more due to the rear airbags than the level kit). I never had to replace any ball joints or anything else and it tracks straight and drives like a dream.

And yes, my exhaust brake applies every now and then when it is switched off, when the auto tranny is downshifting. I need to talk to the delaer to find out if it is doing this because it happens to be in regen at that time or if something else is going on.
