Very true. I don't know you, but I guess what I'm trying to say is: Before you go hacking into your exhaust or emission system I'd think twice because once you do...no warranty. Although this guy's brother is having problems with his truck, the one thing he's got going for him is warranty. I know it's an incovience but no matter what he's not having to pay for the work. He also has the lemon law. If you go taking matters in your own hands (that's probably what they are gambling on) you just threw it all away-

Thats the same thing ive read...

A few guys have tried it, gone a few thousand miles, then it went into limp mode...

There are rumors of someone tricking the computer and everything running fine, much like 02 eliminators on F-bodies/Mustangs, but at this point, its just a rumor...

Ok! the latest! they(Dealer) just installed # 4 exhaust system and dumped a new program into the computor. Brother is heading to Nebraska as we speak with his 1979 Honda XR 185 as a support motorcycle to get to cell service when this thing plugs up again and wont run!will keep you all posted to the latest events!

Hopefully your brother has better luck. I wouldn't do anything to jepardize the warranty on that truck. It can and will get expensive with no warranty especially on first year models.

I'm far from being an expert but after exhaust # 4, you would think the exhaust system is not the problem.

.....of course in a few situations all you can do is replace the obvious "broke" part until a software upgrade comes along. Welcome to technology.

Yes, I agree but why is there 6.7 with nightmares and others with sweet dreams ? I got my truck in March, no reflashes & no problems so far. Why some trucks are defectives after only few hundreds miles ? The software should be the same for all...no ?

I've got 12K on my 6.7 and I haven't had any problems or codes come up at all. But now I'm a little worried about putting the MBRP exhaust on, LOL!

If there's anything I've learned from playing around with my trucks over the years (all gas though, excpet this one now) is that every truck is different. My lightning never once had a single problem with the engine, I beat the hell out of it and was pushing over 600Hp/700trq at the rear wheels and it never once had a problem. But I did go through 6 transmissions in 41K, LOL! Alot of guys, never had a problem and tons of motor problems.

But like some others said, sounds like a fuel problem cause I know seneral guys with the same truck and they've never had a problem either.

No problems at all with mine either and mine is a grocery getter mostly unless I’m on vacation or taking a long weekend, then I’m towing the trailer.

I find it interesting some people are having a few issues and others are not having any at all.

I hope everything works out and they find out what the real problem is.

Please let us know what you find out.
