Does it hurt to leave my block heater plugged in all night or should I plug it in for just and hour or two in the am? It has been 15-20 degrees in the morning.

Guys, on a different note my truck has been running awesome. maybe the whole engine light issue is over for me at 6000 miles. I had a new turbo and all the new recalls.

it can get expensive to run that puppy all night. I have mine on one of those timers. It comes on about 2 hours before I leave the house in the morning.

Yea, I use a timer also, have it set for 4 hours before I'm ready to leave (at -30 Celsius). I also use a 250 watt oil pan heater. I've read somewhere that the engine won't get any warmer after 4 hours of being plugged in. Just my .02.

 

I have left mine on for a week at time a few times when I leave for work.

 

07.5 with 6.7 CTD do they come with the heater from factory or is it an option. I know that the cord is an item that has to be purchased also

 

AFIK they all come with a block heater.
