What do I need to use the DRB tool on a 08 Cummins 6.7? I would like to monitor engine values, do parameter comparisons etc. The tool has been used on a 05 with limited results. Do I need a PCMCIA card, Tool Flash update????

 

Even the latest DRBIII needs updating yearly to keep up with the new stuff - see yer fav MrMoservice guy - possibly he can help - and do that B4 you try to connect with your DRB - a 6.7 UPCM\BCM\TCM is a terrible thing(s) to waste..............

 

you have to use a star scan for 06 and newer trucks.

 

The drb3 is not designed to work with a can bus vehicle,it is way too old and slow to even think about anymore upgrading.

Autoenginuitydotcom sells a laptop software scantool that talks OBD2 and the Enhanced stuff - gives rail pressure and all that enhanced stuff, works well on the Bosch CRD Jeep system, similar to the '03-'06 5.9 Bosch system, just less 2 cylinders, but have not tried it on a 6.7 - it uses a special enhanced adaptor for the CAN buss stuff - check'em out...........

 

I looked into this laptop diagnostic tool. Sounds very impressive. However, the down side is they are just this week releasing the 2007 software for the enhanced tools. I need the 2008, so I will need to wait another year.

Are there other tools that have been released that will read 2008 data?

 

'07.5 was specifically different than '06-'07 because of the 6.7\68RFE\68ASA - should be no changes or little changes '07.5 to '08 - 'sides, the software updates are free if you have the Enhanced license from the previous year(s), maybe back to '04, when DCJ CAN began in earnest - that's what Enhanced is all about, takes a special DLC interface module to use the Enhanced software - it reads all the data in the 2.8L Jeep CRD, which is totally Enhanced, with the TCM for the little brother to the 68RFE, the 545RFE - guess I should surf on over there and investigate the upgrade - see ya...............and, back again

Ha! Ya had me worried - latest release is 5.4.1 JAN08, so what's to worry, eh?
