DPF replacement at 120,000.

I haven't posted in a long time, but thought I would ask if anyone had heard that the DPF would probably need to be replaced at 120,000 at cost to me of around $2000.00.

We've been having problems with the turbo again and just had the third one put in the truck today. I can't wait for the particulate filter replacement. This truck has 80,000 on it and I'm beginning to wonder if it will even make it to 120,000.

Rather than replace the DPF with a new one I would do the deletes, you can do those for under 1000 and you will have a much better truck.

Not that this may apply some radiator shops can clean out dpf filters, they put them in big cookers.

That is why I deleted mine early. So, it will be good when I need it which is to pass a smog test and then take it back off. I feel sorry for those that don't delete this stuff.

If you have to get the DPF replaced don't let them toss your old one. I'm thinking someone might find a use for it. If you were to knock out the screen and block off the Bungs maybe you could hang it back as part of a stealth application. Seems to me that you could be running straight through but appear to have your stock exhaust in place. Don't know, just a thought.

I have been reading about the deletes, but I want to be sure I get what I can out chrysler...so I probably won't do it until the warranty is up.

One question for those in Texas. Do any of you guys keep the deletes when getting them inspected in areas where they do the smog check? Just wondering if it passes or do you go back to stock?

Well, you won't get much out of Chrysler to begin with and you'll be doing your truck a better service for LONGEVITY and performance. Deleting would be the most reasonable and prudent thing to do in this case. You can do a stealth delete and Chrysler wouldn't even know anyways AND your truck will then run with no problems past the warranty....problem solved.

I'm with you guys on the delete...but I'm curious to know if it would pass the Texas emissions testing with the delete setup? Not trying to be illegal here, just curious

Even though it's capable of meeting the 2010 regulations it seems to me being an 07 it shouldn't have to.

I live in Texas and to the best of my knowledge they do not do smog tests like Ca. Mine is still stock at 93K but have had no problems with my truck at all. But before spending $2000 I would delete for sure.

Thanks for the info.

I know they do testing in Williamson county, but I believe where the technicality kicks in...is the truck must have what it was manufactured with to pass. Meaning if it has a DPF and some sort of cat, then at inspection time they must be present or the would be an issue.
