DPF delete
I know there are a million threads about this already but I'm wondering if there is any real advantage to doing the full 5" from turbo back vs just doing the down pipe and dpf? also does the factory muff do anything or should I eliminate that while I'm down there? A little info about my truck! it's an 07.5 I unplugged the EGR and have had NO problems for about a 1000 miles now (the truck has 35000) and I also have the edge with attitude! now I'm looking to do the DPF delete and hopefully be done with mods and just drive it!! but I wanna do it right the 1st time and not wish I'd spent the extra $400 or whatever it is for the 5" any help or info would be great!
Unless you plan to eventually produce extreme amounts of power, a 5" TBE provides no performance advantage over a 4" TBE (which is what you would have with a straight through downpipe and DPF delete pipe). I've run both and notice no difference in EGT's, fuel economy, power, or anything else aside from the looks of it and the sound of it.
If you aren't really concerned with making a high HP truck (and it sounds like you aren't) then I would save your coin, buy the 4" downpipe and delete combo, and be happy. The stock muffler doesn't really do anything for the sound so you can either keep it or scrap it, your choice. If you don't like the sound of the straight pipe when you get it, you can add a muffler of your choice. I recommend an AeroTurbine 4040; it's what I had on my 4" TBE and absolutely loved the sound. I've been thinking about replacing my generic muffler that came with my 5" TBE kit with an AeroTurbine 5050xl but am getting tired of spending money on exhaust parts...lol

Technically it should only void your emissions warranty but it is really up to your dealerships discretion (ultimately Dodge's) and, considering the current state of Chrysler finances, I would venture to say they will look for any reason whatsoever to void your warranty altogether.
