Difference in CC and truck with beds

What is the difference in the motor and is there a difference in the emmissions equipment on the CC and a regular 3500 with a bed?

No difference in motor - big difference in emmission system. The Cat and DPF are all one.

The do have lower rated HP. I believe the CC are rated at 325? Also the autos are different beasts. The 68RFE in the 3500 fleetside and Aisin in the CC.

There are a number of differences. The engine hp is 305, it does have different emissions, the frame is different, the rear axle is different (narrower) and it has a different automatic transmission, the Aisin vs the Dodge 68 rfe. I'm not sure about those letters. Also the suspension is different and the front axle is different if you have a 2 x 4. Like I said there are a number of differences. There are probably more, but those are the ones I can think of right off hand.

Anyone want to add why the CCs have less power even though they are far more likely to be worked harder?

Derated to protect the truck when you put an employee that doesn't know any better behind the wheel...

With what the CC is rated to pull, why would you need more than 305 Hp?

They tend to be beasts of burden, not race trucks.

I hope I didn't sound like I was complaining! This engine still has me bragging, when non 6.7 owners can hear me over their engines, two years later. I just thought from the beginning that it was odd and there must be a reason.
