Dead Accelorator / Throttle intermitten

Hi First Post here so here goes!

I had this problem a few times where as when I'm driving the accellorator pedal just goes dead, truck does not accellorate unless I pull off the pedal and reapply pressure, then it will accelorate for a short distance and go dead again!

Been to the dealer three times, first time they said code for bad accellorator pedal, they replaced it , within a week back to dead pedal again. No CEL but the red lightening bolt with brackets around it comes on. Back to the dealer no code, they have it for two days, no solution. I brought it back in yesterday, same issue, no code, they are talking with Chrysler?

It hasn't left me stranded, I just pull over shut it off wait a minute and restart, drives fine for a week.

Can anyone offer any insight to the problem? Anyone experienced same problem?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

J

Sorry for not providing the complete info:

The truck is a 2007.5 Dodge 3500 SRW, MC, 4X4 with the 6 speed AT and the 6.7L CTD. The truck has approximateley 63,000 miles.

Hm sounds like the APPS (Accelerator pedal positioning sensor) problems that the earlier 3rd gen 5.9l has. I'm not sure if the APPS sensor is similar but thats where I'd be looking.

Thanks for the recommendation,I checked with the dealer, that is what Chrysler replaced the first time into the service department.

There is a procedure for resetting the apps, I believe its unhook the batteries for 30 min, hook them back up, turn the key to the on position (dont start). Fully depress the pedal to the floor slowly, then back up. Turn key off and that should reset it.
