well, how do you like the 6.7L????? & did you get the G56 or the Aisin??? also how well does the exhaust brake work???? I can't wait until mine gets here!!!!! you got any pics of the bed??? i'll stop now!! LOL Dusty
I think it's the particulate filter that collects all the soot. You know how on gasser's that have a cat on them smell different than without, well, that's how my truck smells, different. I tried tonght to see if there any type of smoke or haze coming from the exhaust with no luck! Nothing!!
Hey Hillbilly, I've got 900 miles on mine, I changed the oil at 500, so with 400 miles on the new oil it still looks new. I think you really have to add alot of fuel to get your oil to blacken up quickly. Maybe.

MY GOSH, that was funny!
Seriously though, I'll never have to worry about one, but I'm sure you can pull it out and gut it. If there's sensors, they'll just think it's always clean right? Maybe?
I'm sure they (aftermarket) will figure out a way.
Hillbilly, have you noticed how your 07's exhaust is changing colors, like it's getting REALLY hot!? This worries me, I'm going to put a heat reading gun to it and see what it runs. This could effect me using this truck off road.
Well between the particulate filter and the ULSD fuel as well as the low ash oils the soot/ sulfer has really been cut back. That is what the federal government wanted! They want to see no more smoke coming from the tailpipes of the diesels! I know the ECM's on these trucks are real sensative to mods of any type homemade or other wise. Which is what the feds like, even if you put something on there and have problems later the computers were suppost to be configured in such a way that it will keep a complete history of changes that can be detected no matter what you try to do to erase them. So the dealer will know in a heartbeat that somthing changed. I talked to a few guys at SEMA and the mods will come but they will be real slow to hit the market
