Coolant Everywhere ???
Coolant Everywhere ???
Notice coolant drops on the garage floor Sunday morning. I got under the front end to have a look and coolant was everywhere, all over the front of the engine. Opened the hood and it was on the top side also, air box etc.....
Over flow bottle was EMTPY. I cleaned it all off and refilled the bottle. Started the truck and let it run for a little while and didn't see any leaks. Drove it this morning to work and check it at lunch. Sure enough.....coolant everywhere. I am sure the fan is probably blowing it, but where could it be leaking ???? I didn't notice anything yesterday when I was letting it run for 15 mins or so. I will try and check it better this afternoon.
Just wondering if anyone was ideas. I only have 72,000 miles so I am surpirsed ! This is the first problem of any kind with the truck.
Ideas welcomed........

Check that the coolant bottle isn't cracked, split, whatever. Sounds like once it warms up the crack is opening, and then the fan is blowing it everywhere...That or your thermostat housing is cracked, and whenever the T-stat opens the fan blows coolant everywhere. Good luck!
Something I have seen on a couple of 03s is that the lower fan shroud will rub on the radiator core in a certain place, until it has worn right through a couple of tubes and caused a leak which will spray out into the fan.
On the lower part of the shroud, toward the passenger side, there is a channel formed in the shroud where the fan clutch wiring runs. At the top edge of this channel is where the plastic wears against the aluminum core. Unfortunately you will need a new rad, and some ingenuity to prevent this from happening again.
