Codes

My truck threw another code today. This is the 6 time this has happened with only 4k miles. I ask evertime what it was but never get a straight answer. I think evertime it has been this emission crap though. It always reads system ok so that dont make since. I had they last flash and sensor change and it seem to help my truck but out of the blue it threw again. The 6.7 would be so awesome with out this dpf. It also seems since 06 that Chryslers quality has gone to crap. This will be my last Dodge truck unless I change my mind.

where do you see the codes at. I have had my 07.5 for two months and it has been in the shop 3 time for the engine light comming on. today will be the fourth time. I fired it up and there it is again the engine light is on. I live in california and it is not cold here and the weather has had little rain.

I think you see it in the odometer display after having done a key turning trick in the ignition. I've read the proceedure before, but haven't tried it yet on mine. I got my first CEL (@2K) yesterday as I was taking it in for some other service! I call that lucky-bad-luck.

turn key on, off, three times, stop at on. Don't start the engine. You have to do it pretty quick. I do mine about as fast as I can.

My truck's CEL is on much more than it's off. I've learned to ignore it (for now). It's always the same 2 codes, one of them being about turbo boost not detected and the other about the O2 module. The dealership has given up and we're waiting for DC to come up with a fix. The truck runs well, though. Hopefully, al this nonsense will be cleared up before the warranty expires. Even when it expires, I feel that we owners shouldn't be held responsible for repairs. It's been an ongoing problem since day one.

I want keep this thing long. I dont trust Chrysler and when our warranty runs out were in trouble. If we could get rid of that dpf and its programing we would be ok.

Don't think that is going to happen, but I bought this truck for a similar reason and have (had) long term aspirations for it.

I think that if things don't get better and fixed that Crysler may have to extend warrantees and such. There are so many documented issues from so many people on this emissions stuff.

I have 2.5 years left to see and there is always the lemon law of which it seems Crysler might think about going into the Lemonade business.

My engine light came on for a 4th time at 4500 miles, and the shop has had it for 3 days now and told me that the turbo actuator went out, and the waste gate is toast due to soot. Right now they say it's about a 2 week turn-around for the parts.

Ok now I have had the truck in the shop 7 times for tthe C E L. Now they told me that the turbo was all sooted up and needed to be cleaned out. WoW 4500 miles and the turbo is sooted up? Please. I was also told that CUMMINS is bringing out a DVD to teach us how to run our trucks. I Don't know about everyone else But if you need to watch DVD to learn how to run the truck Then maybe they over engineerd the truck. Anyway I made it all the way home this time without the C E L comming on. I think that this is going to be a long hard road ahead of us. I have several long trips planned and now I am wondering if the truck will "make the call"
