Code 2002, third check engine light so far.
Code 2002, third check engine light so far.
Truck is 2007 4x4 3500 with 6.7L and 6sp manual with 5500 miles.
I tried the 3 key cycles and the odo display read 2002. I tried again and now it just reads ----, DONE. Anyone know what this means? Do you only get one chance to read the code this way?
This is my third check engine light.
First was at 1000 miles, dealer said it was something to do with cruise control, if you accidently hit two buttons at once on cruise controls, you get a code.
At 4000 miles, I had a full Catalyst message and had the reflash. Haven't had a re-occurance yet.
Other than all the codes, I love the truck. Any help is appreciated.

P2002-DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD
For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Section 8W.
Theory of Operation
The aftertreatment diesel particulate filter is designed to physically filter soot and to eliminate hydrocarbons from the engine exhaust gases through catalyst reactions in the exhaust stream. Federal law requires that the filter’s efficiency be monitored for signs of degradation that would compromise the efficiency of the filter. The ECM monitors the efficiency of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter via interpretation of data received from the Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor, which monitors the restriction across the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter. The ECM monitors the restriction in the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter at various engine speeds/loads and will set the fault if the restriction is below a calibrated threshold minimum value. The ECM will illuminate the MIL light Immediately when the diagnostic runs and fails in two consecutive drive cycles. Active regeneration of the aftertreatment Diesel particulate filter will also be disabled for the remainder of the drive cycle. The ECM will try to regenerate the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter on the next subsequent drive cycle. The ECM will turn off the MIL light immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes in four consecutive drive cycles.
When Monitored:
This diagnostic runs when the engine is running and after an active regeneration of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter has completed.
Set Condition:
The ECM will set the fault if the diagnostic fails in two consecutive drive cycles.
Possible Causes
FAILED DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER PRESSURE SENSOR
FAILED AFTERTREATMENT DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER
EXHAUST SYSTEM LEAK
BOOST LEAK
EGR LEAK
EXHAUST PRESSURE SENSOR 1/2
SWAPPED OR LEAKING PARTICULATE FILTER PRESSURE SENSOR LINES
INTERMITTENT CONDITION

From my experience with the P2262 code coming up on mine you shouldnt have anything to worry about. My light came on and freaked and thought it was the exhaust again as i had only had it back for 72 hours before the new light. I checked codes and it was P2262 something about turbo boost. The next day i checked it again with the odom reading and it just came back "done" with no more code but still a light. I think if you cycle your engine enough times the CEL will go out but if you want it off you will have to go tot he dealer and have a code read completed. Im guessing that they will just see that the code is cleared and clear the CEL and then tell you to bring it back if it happens again. I may be wrong but to be safe i would see the dealer.
I think the problem more than anything (besides the exhaust ) with these new trucks is that they have a censor for to many things and they can get tripped by little hiccups in the system that are not real problems.

Thanks for the information. I'll let it ride and see if the code will just clear itself.
One thing I noticed is after the reflash, I have a big black smoke stain along the rear bedside above the exhaust. Never had it before but probably due to it never going into regen before.
I agree that the number of sensors is a little out of hand, way to much to go wrong.
