CEL on again

Well, got the idiot light on again... My truck got the latest flash on feb 26, the AZ flash. Has their been an update??

My local dealer closed, Hartzheim (hayward). Now i have to take it to the hacks in fremont, who didn't lube the chassis on an oil change.

Thanks,

Chris

I have had 2 new flashes in the last 30 days so I would say you will get updated when you take it in.

steven, thanks 4 the reply. With the new flash, has anything been different in ur truck??

On my garbage truck, 2008 Peterbuilt w/ cummins, it has a REGEN button. I haven't used it yet, but maybe DODGE should put this on the pick-ups.

I have seen posts where is says to use the engine brake, i'm guessing this would help to blow the crap outta the DPF. Maybe i'll try this next. I mostly drive freeway miles, 20mi each way 2 work. I would think the REGEN would be at high-way speeds, but who knows.

The exhaust brake will not affect regen or the DPF. But it is good practice to use it to keep the turbo limber.

I haven't noticed anything different on the last two flashes. Have an appointment at a new dealer because of another CEL, maybe they will have another flash for me..

I wish my truck had a self destruct button sometimes.

yeah, the svc mgr called & said it had the TURBO code. I'm guessing 2262, from what i've been reading..

My turbo has already been drilled,& fitted with the pipe plug.. It's been cleaned out 3x. I think it might be time for a new turbo!

Is the new turbo a different design? Is anyone having problems with turbo& CEL after it's been changed?

Thanks,
Chris

Well, I was right, it had the p2262 code. They cleaned the turbo again for the 3rd time.

They re-flashed the computer to the BA software. I talked to the tech, and he said dodge told him the update would fix the issue. The tech asked for a new turbo, guess what they denied it. Mechanic said the whole issue it with the jake brake, it gets clogged up with the soot, and throws the CEL. SAys, the new turbo has a different set up for the jake brake.

Unfortunatly, 1st time @ this dealer for the turbo, so when goes back to them in a month they better replace the fricken turbo
