blown motor

I know this is the 6.7 forum but I was at the dealer today while I was waiting to do the new flash update and they had a 2007 5.9 with 9000 miles and it blew a motor. He had a diablosport chip on it, that was it. He has 600 miles on the new motor and it smokes like it is chipped and it has been running real hot. They cant figure out what is going on. They did find out it was a cali truck though. So all of you that are worried about the 6.7. That was a 5.9 and to all you guys that are worried about warrenty the dealer new it was chipped and they replaced the motor under warrenty for free.

Is it possible the dealer sold the owner the diablosport chip under the auspice that it wouldn't void the warranty??

I made a trip to a dealership to look at the new Megacabs when they first hit the lots... before I left, they asked if I wanted to buy a Hyperpac tuner for my 02.

No he did not purchase it from the dealer, they will only put on bully dog. The service manager said it was the chip that caused it but if you dont buy bully dog from him its allways the other chips fault. When I put the edge on my truck he said be careful he has heard they are taking out injector pumps. In my opionion any chip could be the cause not just a certain type. But this dealer will hold the warrenty unless chysler wants the controller which in most cases they dont.

Your mods create the engine to rev faster than the ECM is programmed to see thus causing the alt to increase speed faster creating a voltage surge so when you are accelerating and change from outside air to recirc the actuator is operating at a higher than normal voltage which increases it's torque which in turn breaks the recirc door. If I've seen it once.....I've seen it a million times.

Long time ago, my parent's had a new 1st gen CTD. The brake light on the dash was always on, couldn't figure out why. The dealer they bought it from refused to fix it under warranty, because they'd added a trailer brake controller.

"The warranty for the entire braking system is now void."

When my no.1 injector was locking up they told me I had gasoline in my fuel. Now take that one! Hit and Miss is right!

Had a BD Triple Dog on my 05 and it cooked the transmission. Dealer replaced it with no questions asked.
