BBQ Pit?

Ok yall seems like everytime I turn around I find another great feature that Dodge included on my truck but doesnt mention in the manual. This time im playing around under my truck, greasing the driveshaft of course, and noticed what appeared to be a small sized bar-b-que pit. Maybe yall can help me figure out what it is....

Couple of hinges, few vents, and some charcoal and that thing could grill a mean steak. I just hope that its not made of that "memory" metal and goes into regen cause my steak would be toast.

In completly unrelated news.... The H&S fairy passed and dropped off a stage two DPF kit which shipped as a package from Rollin Smoke diesel with a Edge Juice with Attitude and aFe Stage 2 intake.

And that pesky EGR plug just keeps fallin out!

None of my 5.9 buddies are laughing any more.

Im still smiling....

Just had a Rhino Liner sprayed in today and will be ordering the stacks tomorrow.

Do have to say thanks to my wife, she agreed to let me do what ever I wish to my truck, even void warrenties and break and replace stuff, as long as I keep it and not trade it in on one of those sissy looking new Dodges.

On an interesting note, went and had a talk with the service manager at the local dealership. He told me that if i were doing just the delete that he could look the other way and would work with me on issues, but adding the Edge into the equation complicates things and they would not be able to warranty anything on the drivetrain. I told him that I would not expect them to cause I am going above and beyond what Dodge intended the truck used for that I just wanted a refund on my extended waranty. Was told no prob that they would refund it in full, but he did convince me to keep it as they would warranty any other items, such as a/c componets, seat motors, etc, So im not going to hold to much against them, I feel they are being pretty fair.

The convo did turn pretty funny though, as both the service manager and the salesman who sold me the truck told me that on behalf of Chrysler that they recommend I do not modify my vehicle and that if I remove the emmisions equipment that I could face governmentpenalties.... but when I have all the work done could I PLEASE come back so they can drive my truck cause they have had several customers talk about doing the deletes and add ons but no one has done it yet......

Thought that was pretty funny....

Its great.... Just got back from a small run pulling my dads new Kubota M125X to the shop for its first service. Sittin on a 36 foot gooseneck and pulled like a dream. The turbo whistle is so great.... I was grinning like my three year old at Toys R Us. Only thing I noticed is that the exhaust note has more of a whistle to it with the EGR unplugged. Wonder why, and if a complete delete will give it that throatier sound. I know Ill never get that oh so sweet note of my dads '02 stacked 5.9 but I hope when I stack it it deepens it a bit.

Over all I am estatic with everything so far....

Me and my bud ceremoniusly shaved the BlueTec badge last night....

Take that 2010!

A full delete won't really get a throatier sound. The higher pitched "hair dryer" sound you are hearing is from the VGT. An aftermarket hi-flow muffler such as an AeroTurbine 4040 will give it a deeper sound and reduce much of the hair dryer whine at the tailpipe. Not every muffler will do this. On my 4" TBE I had the Aero 4040 and loved the sound. When i installed my 5" TBE that i am currently running i used the generic muffler that came with the kit and the hair dryer turbo whine is back. i've been thinking hard about an Aero 5050XL but just can't justify spending any more money on exhaust parts right now. I've also heard the Hushpower mufflers give the VGT a nice deep exhaust note but those things are even more expensive than the Aero's.

Again, welcome to the shaved BlueTec badge club. We love cake and fuel economy!

Sell back the extended warranty.. 3k will buy alot of seat motors and a/c compressor's. I sold mine back. I figured I might as well get my money back and "self insure" my truck rather than count on an extened warranty where some jack azz service manager will tell me that's not covered because ______. Good luck with your "extended warranty"!!!

I've been thinking about the Aero 5050XL myself. I'll hit you with a PM on cummins forum after the holiday's if I buy one. Please do the same if you decide to get one before I do!! (same screen name on CF) The muffler that came with my 5" BADP has too much drone. I want everyone, but me to hear my 6.7!! haha
