Batteries and 2509 code

Got a check engine light and a couple of codes p0513 and p2509. A search revels that the 2509 is something with the computer power and that it sometimes goes away with new batteries. my batteries date from oct, 06.
what is a good replacement? Are the Sears Platinum worth the money? that is the way I am leaning since I live close to a store.

I had the same issue and bought the sears platinums 4 months ago and it has done it one time since. It used to do it once a week, and it did it the same week I got them and has not since. I like the sears batteries and have had luck with them in the past.

My OEM batteries died about a year ago. Went with the Auto Zone yellow tops and have not had any problems so far. Even got a discount for buying two.

Had same issues on my 08, passenger battery was the culprit. Two new Duralast Golds solved it. They ended up on my bros 07 when I got the '11. One then went bad on him, and Autozone replaced both as they were purchased together and its good practice to replace both at the same time.

Not sure if that is their policy, or he just got lucky.

I too am having the P2509 code, and my truck will actually shut itself off, and all the gauges start bouncing around until it dies. I havent driven it in 2 weeks, because I was going to start tearing the wiring apart to the ECM. But, maybe I will just start with the batteries. One was replaced a few months ago (under warranty), but I should have replaced both at the same time.

Have both of your batteries load tested. Even a dead battery can put out 12 volts just no amperage. Replace both at the same time. One dead battery can damage the other one, new or not.

Last month I hit the passenger side positive battery terminal with the tranny dip stick which caused an small arc. On my next start, I got the 2509 code.

Batteries were 6 years old. I cleaned all the grounds and terminals, cleared the code with the Attitude and it started slow, but did not throw a code.

Replaced the batteries with OEM ones from a local Dodge Dealer 800 CCA with a 7 year warranty. They were $ 94.00 each. $20.00 less than anyone else in the area. That was a surprize. Auto Zone wanted $116.00 each.
