I have an 08 6.7 and so far have no problems, the only quirk I have is every now and then I hammer down on the gas peddle and run the hell out of the truck and a chime will ring and the overhead will say'' air filter service needed''
so I open the hood and pop the yellow button in and every thing is fine.
The air filter is perfect ( i only have 2,000 miles on it ) the only thing I can think of is the engine is pulling so hard that the stock air cleaner can't handle the volume of air the engine needs, does my theory make sense to you guys, I'm thinking of installing an after market air cleaner

 

Mine always pulled the minder down about halfway within a couple miles of resetting it. Now that I have put an AFE drop-in filter in my airbox I have never had the minder pull down the slightest bit......

Look in the classifieds here. There is a guy selling a drop-in Super Stock 5.9 filter for a great price. It will fit your 6.7. My filter was made for a 5.9.....

 

They must have quit adding the filter minder in '08. Mine doesn't even have one. LOL!

 

Mine does and it IS an 08. Are you sure it didn't fall off? Hopefully there isn't an exposed hole on your intake.....

 

Where is yours located? I see a flat on the top of the filter lid for one but it's blank. No holes anywhere for one...

 

It's on the top right as you look from the front of the truck. Maybe they finally realized that they are worthless and stopped drilling the hole in the lid....

 

They must have. I just went out and looked at the spare air box that i bought to mod and the recess is blank on that one also.

 

My '08 has one. Whats your build date? I've hammered mine up to 90 or so and no reaction from the filter minder.

 

Build on mine is April '08.

 

It seem as though they forgot to put one on mine too...build date March '08

 

Dec 07 and mine has one.

 

Mine is an 08 and it don't have one. Build date, Mar. 08.

 

Mine is an 08 Build date in Feb. and mine does not have one

 

They may have gone to an electronic version on the 2008s. Check your owners manuals to see if they mention anything different.

 

My 2008 5500 has one, but the 2008 4500 does not. I thought becuse the 5500 was a laramie and the 4500 is a ST but I guess not. 5500 build of Oct 07, 4500 build May 2008. I would not trust the filter minder anyway.....
