After Market Air Filter?

I am needing to replace my air filter. It is the original filter. Is there any kind I should stay away from. Would like to get one that breathes better. I want to keep the stock air box.

Stay away from K&N. I prefer AFE or S&B

2nd that for an aFe or S&B drop in. I like dry media, no oil to mess with, easier to clean, etc.

I use the amsoil EAA 189 dry cleanable filter that fits the stock airbox.

NAPA 9946. It's the new double sized free flowing one that fits the stock box.

Genos carries the same one in a Fleedguard. Nice folks. The filterminder won't immediately go down anymore with this one.

What is wrong with K&N? seems that no body has any thing good to say. What is it the more you pay the better it is?

K&N tested the worst of most filters out there, and there were a bunch of them tested.

The 9946 filter is a great design. I have put 9,000 miles on mine so far with no filterminder movement or mileage drop.

I am interested who did the test? What are the actual flow percentage and filtering percentage and PPM. I am not trying to start a war or anything I just want to see the #'s
