afe weird noise??

Sometimes After letting my truck sit for 10 minutes idleing, i go and take off, makes a weird whistle. Wish i knew how to describe but sounds very ugly, this happens also with EB on letting off gas.

But this only happens for first few minute after idleing.

Again, wish I knew how to explain noise but if you have heard the noise im talking about, u would know.

Please comment

PS. all my intake connections are tight.

PSS. cleaned air filter at 20k miles. Never oiled

Mine does the same thing. Started after I installed the Airaid system. I can hear it at idle sometimes. If I shut off the engine at that point, I can hear the turbo winding down. Usally, I let it idle until the noise goes away and then there is no turbo wind down. Having the EB also affects this condition.

Well, I think your talking about something different. I think what your talking about is turbo boost calming down when you come to a stop. That actually sounds pretty cool. Noise im talking about is when you take off after idle for a little and slow down with EB after idle a little bit. Sounds like something is not right and it sounds like a dieing pig

If you have an oil type filter it needs to be oiled to function properly, nothing to do with noise.

Yup, it is something different...****, dieing pig is not something I would want to listen too. Mine is like a high pitched whistle...
Do you have the high idle enabled?? Everything I read head indicates that long periods of idleing is bad for the dpf and possibly the turbo.

Exhaust leaks will do that also.I'd look real hard around turbo and manifold.

Maybe it might be some type of leak, everytime i do an oilchange, I take of the torque tube from the turbo itself to reach the filter.

I dont know u can possibly have an airleak as there is only 1 way to put it on but maybe a leaf fell onto it or something.

Yes I have the High idle enabled but rarely use it as im not parked for longer then 15 minutes at a time. Probably should use it but thats probably not the problem. Maybe I will just take off intake and put it back on.

Also, never oiled my filter and dont know exactly what that does, maybe that has something to do with it???????

I'm not talking about inlet tubes to turbo per se but the exhaust manifold, brake etc.

Oiling traps dust and other really fine particles. Did it make the noise before you cleaned it?

Mine was doing the same thing also the first couple weeks I had it. It's gone away since then, but know what your talking about (just didn't sound quite right). Again sound has gone away on mine, only have 3400 miles on it though.

LOL, mine was fine for the first 15-25k miles. Now its doing it. Its funny how it only does it for the first few accenlerations or EB braking for the first minute or 2 after idle.

Wish I had any idea of what it was. I tried to track it down and couldn't find it. If you come up with something let me know. Kind of waiting for it to happen again.
