Question 90 Degree drill to drill or exhaust collector ??????

What type of drill did you people use for drilling and tapping the exhaust collector for the thermo coupler for your EGT gauges. It seem that a 90 degree attachment or drill is what would fit? What did ya all use???

11/32 bit, 1/8"npt tap, I use a straight 18v dewalt. best location is when doing deletes, drill and tap the rear egr cooler plate in the vice before installing it. do possible chance of metal shavings entering the turbo and if you ever have to go back to stock, the manifold is still a virgin.

I assume that you still have your EGR cooler and such? If so, it is definitely a tight space in there. I used a 90 degree drill attachment that I got from Harbor Freight cheap. It worked great and there is just enough room to get in there with the intake tube removed...

Thats what I thought from looking. With the bit in my drills none seems to fit without a 90 degree adapter or 90 degree drill.

Thanks
Brian

To put the EGT probe where I wanted mine, I had to use a right angle drill. Luckily I had one at work I could borrow.

I went through the fender with an ordinary hand drill and drilled and tapped it right above the turbo flange. Take the inner fender plastic out and it's a straight shot with the wheel off.
