6 speed automatic, recalled

6 speed automatic, recalled
Been lurking for awhile and just thought I would finally post.
I am ready for a new truck and I'm looking for a new 3500. So today I get in touch with one of Dodge's biggest dealers.
They told me that the 6.7 with the 6 speed auto is 'on hold' due to a factory recall of this transmission. I can still order one but there is an issue with the automatic tranny and this will delay my order until the recall is fixed.
Anyone know anything about this?
Steve

6 Speed Tranny Recall??
That would explain why my truck suddenly went into storage instead of being sent to my dealer. I was supposed to take delivery next week sometime.

This must be par for the course now. The G56 was on hold soon after it came out, too. I emailed Tomeygun asking for a quote and he told me he couldn't price out a six speed (this was in March '05) for some reason so he had to price out a truck with an auto and then deduct it at the end.
I'm with Skynyrd. Get these things 100% before they get into the owners paws.

Dodge Recall
Using a quick internet seach I found this:
Chrysler Recalls Dodge Ram Pickups
WASHINGTON -- February 10, 2007 -- DaimlerChrysler is recalling more than 86,000 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks to resolve front-end vibration that could result in the failure of the front wheel bearing.
A spokesperson said the company had received a "couple hundred" warranty claims on the 2006 model trucks.
Owners who experience front-end vibration or bearing noise may take their vehicles to a dealer for inspection. Chrysler said it will replace the front wheel hub and bearing units at no cost to the owner

I ordered a 3500 Mega Cab 6.7 automatic back in Dec, and I've been waiting too. My dealer can not or will not tell me why my truck has been in storage for over three weeks.

I tried to get more info from the dealer.
The sales guy told me this is a problem with something to do with the EGR? He said that moisture was an issue somewhere. I really didn't understand what he was talking about.
Anyway the issue was with trucks with a 6.7 and a 6 speed auto. I was told it was a quick fix and that it shouldn't delay delivery very much. They have a truck with a 5.9 just like I'm after, so I'm thinking about going this route. The BlueTec stuff and this recall issue are starting to spook me.
By the way sorry I haven't 'lurked' around long enough for everyone. LOL! (what's with those comments anyways?)

Missing '07 Mega Cab
Well my son found out today that my truck is sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Mexico. He couldn't find out why, but he did get the address. He said we could run down and take a look at it.
