6.7L MPG's Anyone have more than 30k miles

I am in the market for a new truck and can't decide between the new 07.5 with the 6.7L and the auto or the 07 with the 5.9 and 48RE. I currently am getting between 18 and 20 mpg with my 04.5. It did take 30k miles to get this mileage, it started out in the 14-15's. Anyone out there have any miles on their 6.7L auto and if so what mpg are you getting?

My buddy has 8000 on his and he gets 18.3 around town, never does highway driving empty so IDK what he gets then, but he also drives fairly restrained, opening it up only every once in a while.

Mine has started in the 14's-16's

now with 1800 miles, so I have a feeling it'll be close to what you went through.

not trying to start anything but having put 5,200 miles on my 6.7 I really doubt anyone's getting 18 towing or around town with a 6.7.

Try keeping your RPM's near/under 2k and lay off the turbo.

My numbers were from hand calculations. If I get on it a lot and drive > 70 I notice the computer starts to drop, so I'm sure the hand cals would too if I kept it up. I drive 90% highway though.

Might give it a try and see where it gets you. Also, I've heard (not confirmed) that the new flash may help a bit too if you haven't gotten it.

not sure, but from what I've heard on the flash, it addresses some of the issues with the DPF and Regens and they're really pushing it to be done on all vehicles. It also mentions engine enhancements, so it's possible.

It's an 8 page TSB and it takes them a while to do it too. There's a link at turbodieselregister.com about it.

May want to complain about the milage though, it does seem low. Even on my first tank I got 14.5. The second was nearer 15.5-16.5.

My computer says I average 16.6 though, but it's never right

I was supposed to get the flash done today, but they couldn't get it to download to the starscan device (or whatever they called it). They did say they flashed another one with it, and it erased it from the device after it was done. It wasn't supposed to, and it had taken them 2 hours to download it. They're going to call me back when it's working correctly.

can you join the forums without a subscription? I never read magazines, but it seems like a good forum.

I was hoping someone would be getting 18-20mpg, I would kick myself if I got the 5.9 and the 6.7L turned out to be a better engine. From what you guys posted I also don't see anyone with 30k miles yet either. Hopefully things get better as mine did in 2004.
