My buddy has been getting 17-18 towing his bass boat on the hwy at normal speeds. He has less than 2k miles. I would have already traded my 04.5 for an 07.5 if it wern't for all the emissions crap. When all that gets sorted out, it may be time for a trade (also waiting on the new body style).

What size lift and tires do you have?? Could be why your mileage is bad.

Got 4000 miles on mine and got 14.5 on first tank and sometime after that I got 15.5 hand calculated , hope it gets better than that. Going in for a reflash early next week. Old truck was at least 2mpg better.

Shane

I got 30K on mine and the fuel mileage is really sad, but I am also have the issues with no regen cycles ever completed since it was new...

If I keep my foot out of this towing my 27' trailer loaded on my daily route, she will get from 9-10 at best. Intresting though is with my foot in her and running 22-2300 in sixth gear she gets 8-9 LOL, which is not so bad when you think about how much the motor is being asked to do!!! Might also add that she does this quite easy too.
Back way out of the motor once to those RPM's and she just cruises along eating the road ahead of me!!!

I just wish I knew how to get the high beam and the driving lights on at the same time. I just think the driving lights should be able to turn them on and off at will and whether the headlights are on or not LOL...

Running sixth gear @2200 R's at night I would like all the lights on LOL... Speedo shows from 90-95 right there and the motor just loves to run there as well as the truck. All if really comfy there for me anyway...

Ya know, I too have noticed that the "sweet spot" on mine is higher than the 04.5's was. This truck just seems to like running faster and of course in the danger zone - that is radar range.

Now Mikelr, if you read in the post there of mine you quoted, mine doesn't get the 9-10 running 2200 in sixth gear LOL...

It was raining this morning on the route in places so I just drove the 70 MPH spot down and back. Got a good solid 10 going empty and coming back loaded light. But I was running with a CEL on all morning and afternoon grrrr.

I drive her like I stole her and the CEL doesn't stay on all the time, LOL...

I have 1200 miles on mine and have been getting 17-18 hand calculated. It's a handshaker thougth, that might be some of the difference.

Is that calculated using the 1 potato, 2 potato and so on method?

I have the same odometer mileage on mine (stick shift, too) and just hand calculated mine at a little over 12 MPG. Most of this was in-town driving with some hill climbing in the rurals (not towing anything...no load in the bed). Why is YOUR mileage so much better? Did you have the new re-flash done? An inquiring mind wants to know...

I had the reflash done and it jumped me up from low 13mpg to 14.7mpg on my 3500 drw with 3800 miles on it . Both highway and city driving. Not any heavy hauls under its belt yet.
