Thumbs down 6.7 blowing black smoke and no power

2009 RAm 2500 auto with roughly 150k on it. bought it in february and noticed that is leaves little puffs of smoke when accelerating or going to pass. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. started the truck and left the driveway. 1/4 mile down the road its blowing black smoke and not revving up to accelerate and what not. i had just driven this truck 80 miles the night before with absolutely no problems. I left it sit while i have another car to drive. i fired it up tonight, still doing the same thing, but this time after trying to hold 1500 rpms, i let off the throttle and it died. Anybody have any suggestions? No check engine lights at all. clear dash other than a tire light. i did notice that while trying to rev it up, the volt gauge and dome lights were dimming in unison. im at a loss, i wanna say dpf and that i should delete it but im not so sure. Any suggestions fellas?? Thanks!
