6.7...any years to avoid?
I am really liking the 6.7. Good power, solid truck, EB, 6-speed tranny, all the miles on this particular truck are highway anyway and spent some time pulling a trailer (I here the 6.7's like this anyway) need to adjust a few things and it looks like we might be a go. What is the better tranny? The 6-speed auto or manual? Both have the EB as I can see. My last tranny went on my '02 (47re) at about 100K so I a little gun shy on the auto's

Preference is what it boils down to.
But as far as stock autos go, the 68 is awesome. I wouldnt put too much extra to it without any work, but I regularly pound the crap out of mine on SW3 and its as solid as a rock.
This is my first auto diesel and I do like it, but the want for a standard is always there for me, and if I get another, it will be a six shaker.

I heard Al Gore is heading a special blue ribbon committee to hunt down and prosecute all those red necks who delete their emissions garbage on their diesel trucks. Obama is appointing him as a "czar".
Look in your rear view mirror and if you see a very large private jet tailing you with "Yeah, I'm burning more fuel in a day than most people do in a lifetime, but I bought carbon credit" stickers all over it, it's Al Gore and his team of crackpots snuffing out Global Warming, I mean Global Climate Disruption, or whatever they're calling it now.
You boys be careful out there.

Be careful what you wish for. Old Algore can be a tough hombre, especially when he has that Grizzly Adams beard going. When he swoops down on you in that private jet you'll probably dookie your drawers and head straight to the nearest DMV office to confess your sins.

My name is Blake and Im a BOMBaholic.
I care for Al Gore about as much as I do a poopy flavored lollipop.
He is welcome to set foot upon my property. Whether or not he leaves is yet to be determined.

Wonder if it is accurate or if they are inflated.
Not to mention for such higher numbers than the Cummins, the Ford still just barely eeks by in a couple of categories. I would have expected a full out across the board blowout.
I saw some dyno numbers from the new ford flash and its impressive. 306 hp and 643 ft/lbs at the wheels. I've heard our 6.7 cummins is around 280ish hp and 600 ft/lbs at the wheels.
Even if our numbers are lower, those engines are only rated for 250,000 miles. Plus right now they have that really cool transmission glitch that is locking the tranny in 5th gear. Imagine starting out in 5th?
Then the distance till empty for the DEF fluid being wrong, one guy thought he was ok as it says he had 300 miles to go. Suddenly he was empty of fluid, the truck derated to just above idle and he towed a trailer for 29 miles idling on the side of the highway. I would NOT be happy about that.
