No i believe it has nothing to do with the fuel like everyone has been saying. Its more along the lines of a bad design from what everyone that has problems with it says. But i dont know first hand so dont quote me on this stuff, im just going by what i read on here.

What about the exhaust gas recirculation the new 6.7Ls have? I'm sure that wouldn't help with preventing carbon build-up.

i cant imagine they would make an engine that cannot be idled. the next thing they are gonna want you to do it turn the engine off at ever red light in town and crank it up and go on green!

this stuff is all part of the bluetech diesel. It has a cat, and a diesel particulate filter that needs to be cleaned by dumping more fuel into the exhaust from time to time. It also has an EGR that can soot up. Dodge has sent a DVD out to all 6.7 owners telling them that long idle periods will cause problems and derease fuel milage. One thing that you can do to warm up quicker is to use the engine brake for warmup. This loads the engine a bit and helps with getting some heat into it. I don't let mine idle much, just a couple of minutes and then go easy till the temp starts coming up.

Hey, I'm all for saving the planet, but come on. This thing sounds as if the only way it is reducing emissions is by forcing owners to reduce long idling times or suffer bad fuel mileage and trips to the diesel doc.

I thought the 6.7's had a flux-capacitor.

My thoughts exactly on all of this. Why make a truck this strong, yet have such a sensative 02 sensor? Thanks for the input. Frustrating is an understatement, sure hope they work the bugs out soon.

Only one thing remains...work the bugs out yourself (with a big hammer...and maybe a reciprocating saw). All else fails - big hammer. Emphasis on BIG.

even the thought of such thing will have the thought police at your doorstep!!!

There will be NO talk of modding the exhaust system on the 6.7 on DTR!!!

Just ensure you have the most current flash. The latest flash took care of my engine light problems...so far that is. BTW, my truck will idle for up to 2 hours at a time on a fire scene with the lights on. Dodge will just have to suck it up and keep fixing these things because we need to run them as our needs require!
