5500 Power Upgrades...

I have decided to trade my truck in for an '09 5500 when they come out. From what I understand they run the exhaust back through the air intake and I am wondering how it handles the soot after fuel upgrades are installed. Also are fuel upgrades on the 6.7 liter as simple as they are on mine where you just plug in a box or does the new turbo and computer equipment make things more complex?

Not sure about the 09's, but the ones out now are not really any different than the older ones. Perhaps they are even easier now. There are a few things available for them, Edge, Bully Dog, mp-8, and some others. Some downloaders also. As far as the soot goes, no personal experience, but I imagine these engines are going to pretty dirty inside after some miles. I was messing with my egr this past weekend and was disgusted when I took the intake horn off. It looked like the inside of an exhaust pipe on an older diesel. I don't understand all this crap the epa is doing. The worst part is the exhaust pipe on mine is cleaner than the intake.

SEARCH is your friend. Most everything is different between a 98.5 5.9L and a 2007+ 6.7L
