2509 code?
2509 code?
Hello again. Wife started her truck and the little lightning bolt and CEL came on. Did the key trick and pulled a 2509 code. Anyone ever have this? Does this deal with the ECM? I had the truck in the dealer last month for the cleaning of the turbo and the reflash. Do you think this had anything to do with this code? I'm taking it back to the dealer tomorrow and any info I can take with me would really help out! Thanks again!!!!!!

Not sure what would have caused that but the first that comes to mind is a battery issue dropping below a certain voltage when starting. Will cause all sort of funky issues. Could be just one of the batteries bad and it dips on that first cold start in the morning.
I found the connections on my passenger battery to be snug but not tight. I tightened them and never had that lightning bolt or code again. Its like they were just stuck in place but loose.

Scotty, we replace batteries all the time for this. keep an eye on it. once they get below the threshold where the ECM needs to be, it freaks out the throttle valve.

I had dead batteries....my fault. Last time I was hunting the pack rats were crawling under hood and raising hell. The locals would pop there hood up and the rats didn't think it was so cosey. Well I have the convience light under the hood and had to dissable it so it wouldn't kill the battery. I unfastened the light so I could position it to stay off. When we were heading home I snapped it back into place. Well it appears I broke one of the clips that keeps it in place and it came loose tipped enough to come on while the hood was closed. The rest of the story.....dead battery! Well I got it charged up to where it would start it and it presented me with a CEL and the 2509 code...They went away after 3 starts or the batteries were charged.
I left my edge insight plugged in and didn't drive the truck for about a month. Drained both batteries deader than dead... I had to hook a charger and jumper cables just to fool the charger that it was connected. Once I got her fired, it charged up and has been good since. Learned my lesson with the edge insight and not driving... Hopefully Blake did not hear that. Money falls out of his rear when he drives :-).
