20k miles

Well, it's been a little slow and I took a few days off for a change, but still managed to get 20k mile on the truck. Actually 22k on the clock. So far the only problems have been sensor glitches on the air-pollution system. These problems have corrected themselves, usually after a re-start. As posted before, I immediately took it in for the first couple of codes but was told by Dodge that stored codes do not require any further investigation, only active codes. With all the sensors on these things, I'm sure at one point they may give an occasional "out-of-normal" reading, tripping the error code, but then they seem to correct themselves. No performance issues with the codes so far. Just 3 good starts and the "lightning bolt" disappears. No need to visit the dealer!!
Gained 1 m.p.g. empty after hitting 20k miles - 15.5 m.p.g. Poor compared to the 04.5. Towing is still about the same - struggles to get 2 digit mileage @ 75 m.p.h. Yeah, I know, slowing down will increase the mileage, however I'm not out there sight-seeing. Guess I was a little spoiled with the mileage I was getting out of the 04.5.
Over all, still very pleased with truck. Just hope it doesn't eat me out of house & home before it starts getting some decent fuel mileage!!

Hey guy,

I have about the same mileage as you and have the EGR valve being the biggest and most concerned code, that always has gone away after a few start and run cycles.

One thing I would like to say that I found out on mine was it was running OK through out all this, but when the dealer hooked up the star scan, we saw that the motor had never completely went through a regen. cycle... So might make sure you are going into regen and its a completed cycle each time. The dealers tech I am using said it just needs a new EGR valve, so I hope this fixes mine anyway. Just thought I would share this...
