Decided its time to upgrade the old Dodge. Got a chance to buy a '05 auto w/19000 miles, cherry. cost 34ish.But before I made my decision I went down and drove both the new auto and the manual trans Dodge. The manual was a 3500 w/ all the bells and whistles. I got nervous when the salesman had me roll down the window to tell me that the manual didn't have the power that the auto did. I want to tell you that he was correct. There was absolutely no turbo sensation and it was like driving an old 350 gas 4 spd. The kid riding with me (who owns a bombed out '03 dodge) kept shaking his head in disgust during the whole test drive
. The '05 mentioned above would have chewed this one ton up and spit it out.
On the other hand the auto trans was a little more impressive. Had to be cautious taking off because of spinning the tires so easily. Decelerating from 65 mph it got a little road crazy maybe partially from the jake but it felt unstable none the less. overall it was fun to drive. Probably tear up the '05 off the line but not sure it would out run it in the long run. My memory is getting bad but i'm pretty sure the auto is rated at 350 horse.
I guess my questions, 1) Is the Juice or any other devices going to be available any time soon and is there any scuttlebut on what it will do for for performance. 2) I'm wondering about is just how much they are going to be able to turn up these rigs when they have all this new smog crap on them now. 3)The exhaust looks awful to replace what are those two conical looking devices for and can a guy take them off. 4) I didn't notice a switch for the jake, Does it have one cause if not it could get embarrassing in the snow and ice.

Edge is currently testing their juice for the 6.7. They said look in a month. Bullydog has beta testers using their product right now.
If you want to bomb, the 05 is the best to do it with. The reason for the 6.7 is newness and the 6sp auto. Otherwise the 05 is the best for modding.

There is a switch for the exhuast brake which is located center dash, below the radio.
That's what I was thinking. That's pretty close to the brand new prices I see people reporting. Is it safe to assume you're buying a used rig from a dealer?
less than 2 months ago I bought a 07 2500 5.9 auto 4x4 quad cab Inferno Red with spray in liner for $35400 including taxes & other misc dealer charges, look new for a 5.9 and get the best of both worlds, new, warranty and upgradable (bombable if you so desire).

Sorry I didn't get back to you guys, got busy. I see most of you guys sig is from back east or Texas. I've always heard trucks were cheaper back east, but here in Az. especially in remote towns you pay the piper. I was looking in the truck trader today and '04 and '05 trucks with low miles go for 28 - 32,000 maybe more (goin by memory). there was a '06 garnet red cummins with 22,000 at a different lot price was about 38,500 (see what I mean).
And I thought that was a bit much as a 06 leftover Thunder Road 4-door Auto (new) sold $32K down from $45k
$34K for an '05???

I don't know... around here they are doing pretty good. The dealer offered me 35k in trade for mine about 6 months ago, with 37k on the clock. (great milage for an 04.5, huh?) It's in pretty good shape, tho.
I got my '07 with 000,250 miles for not muchmore than that and I am the first one to drive it like it was stolen.

You should be able to get a leftover '07 5.9 6/speed manual QC 4x4 new off that lot for about that. Maybe even a Laramie. Am I right guys?
