2008 6.7 , Can the engine be pulled without lifting the cab ? the cowl and valve cover look very close ? or is there any tricks to it ? thanks

My son has pulled his 5.9L on his 06 truck. He removed the entire cooling system along with the front grill guard and then removed the valve cover and head before removing. Just to make the engine lighter by removing the head. I believe he re-installed the engine with the head assembled to the engine but no valve cover on it. Hope this helps?

I wouldn't think so. If you gotta pull I wouldn't think why would make a difference. I was just curious. Don't hear of anyone having to pull one very often.

Pull the whole front off the truck. Bumper, Condenser, CAC, radiator, etc. You will have to deal with the front lower cross member. You can spread the frame apart to get this crossmember out or slide it to one side and cut it between the 2 bolt holes once it has been slide to one side. Hope this helps.
