Zerex G-05 or CAT Coolant

Flushing the coolant out of my truck. I know I need a HOAT and am ready to refill w/ Zerex G-05. Should I use the CAT coolant instead?

Why do you want to use the CAT coolant?

Zerex G-05 is good stuff and relatively cheap. About $11.00 a gallon or so at NAPA.

Is the CAT stuff hybrid organic?

Apparently it is some sort of extended life coolant, but I couldn't find anything showing anything abou its chemistry.

Anyhow, if it were mine I'd still spring for the G-05 Hoat.

Use the Cat coolant. If it works for the big stuff why would it kill the little stuff?

I got standard green antifreeze in mine. I have talked to numerous field service representatives from Cummins and International while in the Army. As long as you are not mixing types of antifreeze you can run just about any antifreeze you want as long as you completly flush the previous coolant out of the system. I am currently using All Fleet brand antifreeze that was laying around work in my truck and no problems overheating or corrosion. Only difference is you might have to service it a little more often the what Chrysler recommends in the manual.
